Once the canvas is toned one is ready to begin drawing the scene. I always try to stay "loose" by using a mixture of burnt umber and turpenoid - mostly turpenoid. Straight turpenoid on the brush will act as an eraser and remove the line painted. Be sure to use turpenoid not turpentine as the fumes in the turpentine are toxic. Many painters wear gloves - I don't but the oil paint can be toxic as well, especially the cads like Cadmium Red, etc. Remember, be loose blocking in your shapes.
