Have spent the day finding frames for 2 paintings that are going to be entered into the Fine Arts Show at the Date Festival next month.........Cory, a Landscape, and an Abstract. The entry date is next Friday so had to make sure I had all the appropriate materials. Still need to varnish both Cory and the landscape. This process is done when the oil is dry. It seals the paints and brings a nice sheen to the painting. The colors are more vibrant. Haven't decided which abstract to enter. I like them both. Neither require frames thank goodness! Will post them here. I find that I seem to "see" better when they are on the blog! Both are done in acrylic and are 30 X 30.

I also chose the painting that I am donating to the So. Ca. DX Convention which will be held in Visalia next April. This is a big event drawing Ham Radio people from all over the world. Flower Garden is the title of the painting. It is 18 X 24 oil, done with a pallete knife instead of a brush. I am going to post it here..........

Have to crop and straighten up these photos!!!!!!!! And I don't have the space on here that my posted blog does in the first paragraph. ???? Will fix this tomorrow. My 6 year old grandson would know how!!!!!!!!
Well, from the looks of it, you're off to another wonderful year of painting. You have such a beautiful hand, at what you do, I wish for both, you and Bart, a most healthy and prosperous New Year... John Freeman
